Animal Care
Care for and learn about some of the animals that make Georgia their home: Loggerhead Sea Turtles, snakes and salamanders just to name a few. Teen programs available also. DAYS/ TIMES: Weekdays and weekends; times are flexible. No experience necessary. Training provided.
Office Help
There can never be too much help around the office! Opportuinities include writing articles, labeling mailers, greeting the public and answering questions, working in the gift shop and answering telephones. DAYS/ TIMES: Times flexible call for information.
Teen Volunteers
Teens are also part of the volunteer crew at SCNC through our Naturalist Assistant Program or NAP. Teens assist in all aspects of the nature center from programming to animal care to trail maintainence. Click here for more info!

Trail Guiding for Elementary Children
Share the wonders of nature with a child, as you lead nature hikes. DAYS/ TIMES: Tuesday-Friday 9:30-11:30 am. Spring, Summer and Fall. Volunteer as much as your schedule allows. Volunteers must be at least 18 yrs old. No experience necessary. Training Provided.
Photography & Artwork
The Center needs photographs and artwork for use in educational programs, publicity releases, promotional programs, t-shirts and publications. A great opportunity for building a portfolio! DAYS/ TIMES: Any day, any time. |
Trail & Ground Maintenance
With over 225 acres of land and over five miles of trails the Center always needs help in the area of trail upkeep. No group is too big or too small. Individuals and groups may choose to adopt sections, as well. DAYS/ TIMES: Any day, any time.
Public Programs
Have an area of expertise? Or would like to learn more about certain subjects? Volunteer to lead or assist any of our many programs, such as: night nature walks, fishing workshops, Snake Day, Super Science Day, Earth Day events, stream and pond studies, bird walks and many others.
